Edible Holiday Decorations: Ornament Sandwiches!
Holiday season, Let’s Lunch-style, means it’s time for a festive, new topic: edible decorations.
I wasn’t sure how to keep it sandwich-themed, but then, voilà . . . ornament sammies!
I made the ornaments and baguette out of homemade maple-flavored marshmallow fondant, and MacGyvered the details using edible silver dust, mini candy canes and colored sprinkles.
This week’s Sandwich Surprisees were Coal Eye:
and Three Stack:
“Glad it wasn’t a tuna melt,” said Coal Eye.
“We hate melts,” said Three Stack.
Then they noticed me eyeing their dark-chocolate stick arms and general maple marshmallowy deliciousness, and high-tailed it back home near a miniature skating rink in Holiday Village.
Let’s Lunch is a worldwide group of warm and fuzzy food bloggers that meets monthly for a virtual lunch date via Twitter (#letslunch) and shares posts on a new topic each time.

Lol, I love this. So cute!
Thanks, Melissa! My niece has inspired my love of making mini things with marshmallow fondant, so she’ll be getting this as a pre-holiday treat. 🙂

Awesome! Like marzipan but tastier (love almonds but somehow never liked marzipan). Also reminds me of Claymation. Maybe you can animate next time? 🙂
Oooh, a food Vine! Will have to think of something fun to animate!

This is hilarious and delightful and I would have said No Way you could do a sandwich holiday post, until you so hilariously and creatively did it! All the best to you and yours for a sweet holiday sandwiched with many layers of good things.
You too, Nancie! I hope yule log many fabulous things in the new year! 🙂
These are so adorable! I’d hate to eat them.
So would I! That’s why I’m leaving the dirty work to my niece. 🙂 Happy holidays, Grace!
